A Survey of Existing Approaches for Water Pump Status Prediction

Abstract

Water Distribution Systems play an important role in shaping the quality of life
of the public. However, we must realize that these systems are aging and have been
deteriorated to the point that their service capabilities are now a matter of concern. Due to
this fact there has been a growing awareness to improve the conditions of the water
distribution system. The objective of the proposed system is to integrate the approaches
followed by other systems to predict the functioning of a water pump by considering the
various diverse factors that influence the water pump functioning such as water quality,
source of the water, pressure on the system, age of the system, population density, various
environmental factors, etc., and come up with a system that can predict the same with
maximum efficiency.
