Abstract

Clinical decision support system (CDSS) is a software, that provides intelligently
filtered patient specific clinical guidelines, triggered as computerized alerts and reminders
to the physicians. The CDS alerts can be designed as rules using various health information
technology codes and computerized guidelines. Doctors can use these alerts to better
manage and more accurately diagnose and treat their patients effectively. Numerous
models and techniques have been used to enhance CDS systems, and the aim of this paper
is to discuss these techniques and models used by them.
