Abstract

The authors determine the duality of the essence of institutionalism, manifested in
the study of the rules and regulations of institutions related to accounting. The authors
indicate a number of inconsistencies in the regulatory framework of related institutions and
suggest ways to eliminate these differences identified in the study of the impact of formal and
informal institutions on accounting in General. The authors identify inter-institutional
contradictions between the institutions of law and accounting, indicating non-compliance in
the practice of accounting conceptual foundations of financial reporting. The analysis showed
the existence of contradictions between the institutions of law and accounting, indicating
non-compliance in the practice of accounting for the principle of the predominance of
substance over form, as well as differences in the reflection in the financial statements of
investment property in accordance with IFRS and Russian national standards. It is established
that in modern conditions the economic actions of the subject are associated with external
factors that determine the correctness of economic decisions, as well as the development of
the correct schemes and algorithms of behavior that are most suitable for each specific
situation.
