Abstract

Potentiometric studies have been carried out on complexes of gabapentin (chemically 2-
[1-(aminomethyl)cyclohexyl]ethanoic acid ) with Cu(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) in
50% v/v dioxane-water medium at three different temperatures (35, 45and 55oC) and ionic
strength 0.1 mol L
-1
(KNO3). Calvin-Bjerrum pH titration technique as used by Irving and
Rossotti has been applied to determine stability constants of the complexes. Free energy,
enthalpy and entropy changes have also been evaluated.
