Abstract

Knowledge of the zeta potential (ζ) gives an insight to the nanoparticles surfaces and helps predict their stability in the solution. In this work Graphene nano sheets were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and UV-Visible Spectroscopy. enzyme activity of Graphene nano sheets as peroxidase mimic were evaluated under different conditions of H2O2 - 3,3’,5,5’-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). Results showed that zeta potential as function of pH conformed to a 6th order polynomial and Point-of-Zero Charge (PZC) of Graphene Nano sheets was between pH = 3-4 and enzyme activity of Nano Carbons obeyed Michaelis–Menten kinetics. Optimum enzyme activity occurred below the PZC agglomeration range.
